Mayor Lloyd Winnecke invites the community to join him at Sunset Park (Riverside Drive and Waterworks Road) on Saturday, June 17, from 9 to 11 a.m. for this month’s Energize Evansville free workout. This month Energize Evansville will offer Hula Hoop Dance Fitness with Instructor Abbi Killebrew and feature a Deaconess Healthier U Walk.

The workout will start with the Deaconess Healthier U Walk at 9 a.m. Come a little early to get health information from Deaconess Cancer Services. Stay after the walk for the Energize Evansville Hula Hoop workout at 10 a.m. The Evansville Parks Department will offer a one-month free pass to Swonder Fitness Center as an incentive prize. The winner will be selected in a random drawing at the end of the workout and must be present to win.
Energize Evansville is a health and fitness program launched by Mayor Winnecke as part of his health initiative to give individuals support to transform their lives through physical activity. The program is held on the third Saturday of each month from 9 to 11 a.m. at a different city park or venue and features local fitness experts leading group exercises for all ages.
The next Energize Evansville free exercise session will be held on July 15 at Lorraine Pool, 2399 E. Adams Ave., and will feature Aqua Fitness.
