Mayor Lloyd Winnecke invites the community to join Energize Evansville for the next free monthly fitness event. The event will be held on the grounds of the Evansville State Hospital, 3400 Lincoln Avenue, on Saturday, May 20, from 9 to 11 a.m.
The workout will start with the Deaconess Healthier U Walk at 9 a.m. Come a little early to get health information from Deaconess Primary Stoke Center. Stay after the walk for Energize Evansville and Push Ups for Charity with fitness pro Tony Maslan from Bob’s Gym at 10 a.m.
The Evansville Parks Department will offer a one-month free pass to Swonder Fitness Center as an incentive prize. The winner will be selected in a random drawing at the end of the workout and must be present to win.
Energize Evansville is a health and fitness program launched by Mayor Winnecke as part of his health initiative to give individuals support to transform their lives through physical activity. The program is held on the third Saturday of each month from 9 to 11 a.m. at a different city park or venue and features local fitness experts leading group exercises for all ages. Everyone is encouraged to attend and exercise at their own pace.
For a fun twist to your workout, save the date for the June 17 Energize Evansville exercise session featuring a hula hoop workout at Sunset Park and the Deaconess Healthier U Walk.
