The Evansville-Vanderburgh County Advisory Board on Disability Services will hold a workshop on making places of public accommodations accessible for people with disabilities on Wednesday, April, 26 at 9:30 a.m. at Central Library Browning Room B. Specifically, the workshop will focus on accessible restaurants. Presenters will include Rick Nelson with Easter Seals Rehabilitation Center and David Carter with the Bloomington Council for Community Accessibility speaking on Bloomington’s AccessAbility Decal Program. The workshop will also include a panel discussing needed accommodations to make restaurants more accessible to persons with disabilities.
The Evansville-Vanderburgh County Disability Advisory Board is charged with providing guidance in matters concerning individuals with disabilities. The advisory board shall provide a public forum for members of the community to raise issues of concern and act as an advocate to make Evansville and Vanderburgh County more accessible to all people with disabilities. The Advisory Board meets at 11:00 a.m. every first Friday at the Civic Center Complex in Room 301.
